In Timor in general, and especially in Tibar, children aged from 3 to 5 have no chance to go to school. They spend most of their time on the streets, without creating habits that allow them to acquire the necessary preparation for primary school. Apart from this deficiency, there is a lack of basic food, which they need to ensure their optimal physical and intellectual development. In 2015, the nursery and preschool centre of Cacaulido was opened reusing some dwellings belonging to the Congregation. As a foundation, we collaborated to open it and now support its maintenance. The purpose is to educate a group of around 100 children. By doing so, we prevent them from joining the high percentage of illiterate people in the country. This school welcomes the children of three villages: Niken, Surikmas and Fatu-Meta.
